Stories
Education: The "Invisible" Barrier
For ten-year-old Leo, the hardest part of school wasn’t the math—it was the focus. Growing up in a household where the next meal was never a certainty, Leo spent his mornings staring at the chalkboard while his stomach growled.
The Sharing Table
In a small Kentucky district, the “Sharing Table” in the cafeteria has become a symbol of dignity. Maria, a mother of three working two jobs, often found the weekend gap the hardest to bridge.
Learning at His Own Pace
At five years old, Ethan experiences the world a little differently. He is curious and kind, but simple things—like following instructions, expressing emotions, or adjusting to new environments—can feel overwhelming.
Who We Are
KidsCare is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public benefit organization dedicated to being a lifelong safety net for children. We support young people from the moment they are born through their high school graduation (ages 0–18), ensuring that no matter what they face, they never have to face it alone.
We believe in a simple, non-negotiable truth: no child should ever go to sleep hungry. Whether a child is growing up in a home struggling to make ends meet or is stuck in the middle of a natural disaster halfway across the globe, KidsCare is there to be their safe place to land.
Our Heart-Led Mission
We look at the “whole child.” We know that to succeed in school and life, a child needs more than just a book—they need a full stomach, a safe home, and a hopeful mind. We fill the gaps that poverty and global crises leave behind:
Fighting Global Hunger: We partner with trusted community organizations and relief agencies to provide warm meals and emergency food support, because a hungry child cannot learn or dream.
A Healthy Start (Infant to Pre-K): We focus heavily on the “First 1,000 Days,” making sure infants, toddlers, and preschoolers have the nutrition and care they need for their brains and bodies to grow strong.
Emergency & Disaster Relief: When the unthinkable happens—like a flood, fire, or earthquake—we partner with trusted relief organizations and community agencies to provide first aid kits, clean clothing, and essential supplies families need to stabilize and recover.
Mental & Physical Health: We know that some wounds aren’t visible. We provide professional counseling to help kids heal from the trauma of emergencies, neglect, or loss, while advocating for their physical medical needs.
Education & Future Dreams: We provide the school supplies and tutoring K-12 students need to stay in school, and we offer career counseling for teenagers to help them build a bridge to a successful adulthood.
